FHA Architects is pleased to announce that Erin Froschheiser and Adriana Mahoney have both become LEED Accredited. LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED APs) are building industry professionals who have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building and the LEED Green Building Rating System™.
By becoming LEED accredited, Erin and Adriana can apply their knowledge of energy efficient and environmentally friendly techniques to future and current client projects. Implementing green alternatives saves money in energy costs as well as employee wellness. Adriana explains, “Most of the people think that in order to apply green technologies you need to spend a lot of money on equipment but just simple things like opening the windows to provide outdoor air or providing open/exterior views to employees is proven to increase their productivity and improve health.”
For both Adriana and Erin green is not a choice they make for their career but also for their life. They recycle as much as possible at home, use programmable thermostats, replace regular light bulbs to CFL, and use an air filter with a high MERV.
